SAFEGUARDING

Keeping Children Safe

At Bressingham Primary School, safeguarding and promoting the safety and welfare of our children and staff is a key priority. We view safeguarding as everyone’s responsibility and we take this responsibility seriously.

We aim to provide a safe and welcoming environment, underpinned by a culture of openness where both children and adults feel secure, and are able to raise concerns and believe that they are listened to, and that appropriate action will be taken to keep them safe.

It is the responsibility of every member of staff, volunteers, governors and visitors to our school to ensure that they are aware of our safeguarding procedures.

Any concerns about a child or adult in school should be directed immediately to the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead or Deputy Safeguarding Lead.

If you have a safeguarding concern about a child out of school hours, please contact CADS (Children’s Advice and Duty Service) on 0344 800 8020.

Our Designated Safeguarding Leads are Mrs Dawn Gudde and Mrs Joanna Lewis

Our Deputy Safeguarding Lead is Miss Danielle Strange

Please refer all safeguarding concerns to them.

Operation Encompass

Operation Encompass has been set-up to help schools to provide support to children who had been present at incidents of domestic violence. The links below provide more detailed information.

Norfolk Safeguarding Children’s Board

Every Local Authority in the country has a Local Safeguarding Children Board in place to make sure that children are protected from harm and that their welfare is promoted. In Norfolk, the Norfolk Safeguarding Children Board (NSCB) is made up of statutory and voluntary partners who work with families and children. They are an independent organisation and make sure that people working with children carry out their safeguarding responsibilities as required by the law.
